About this certification
The elevator is one of the few places where strangers stand inches apart in a sealed box and agree to pretend this is normal. This program sets out the recognised standards for conducting yourself there: where to stand, when to speak, what to say, and how to leave.
Graduates will be able to read a fellow passenger in under two seconds, select a conversation of appropriate length for the number of floors remaining, and exit without the dreaded double "you too."
What you'll learn
- Core elevator conduct: boarding, positioning, door-holding, and exit order
- How to tell whether someone wants to talk (and how to respect it if they don't)
- A pre-approved list of safe topics, and the ones to leave on the ground floor
- The Floor-Count Time Budget for sizing a conversation
- Clean exits, and correct handling of phones and headphones
