Terms of Service
Last updated November 1, 2026
Draft – pending legal review. This document is placeholder text and is not yet a final legal agreement.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of certmylife.com and related services (together, the “Service”) operated by CertMyLife (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. What CertMyLife certificates are (and are not)
CertMyLife certificates are novelty, skills-attestation credentials. A certificate records that the named person completed a CertMyLife program and passed its assessment on the date shown.
- Certificates are not a government licence, permit, academic degree, or professional licensure, and are not issued by or affiliated with any government, accrediting agency, or professional body.
- A certificate does not authorise you to perform any regulated activity (for example, operating a vehicle on public roads, providing electrical or gas work, or handling food commercially).
- Phrases such as “accredited”, “licensed”, or “professional” in certificate titles are part of the CertMyLife brand voice and do not imply external accreditation.
You agree not to present a CertMyLife certificate as a government or professional credential, or to use it to mislead anyone about your legal qualifications.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information, including the name you want printed on your certificates, and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity on your account. You must be at least 16 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to create an account.
3. Assessments and academic honesty
Exams must be completed by the account holder. We may revoke certificates obtained by impersonation, automated tools, or other dishonest means. Revoked certificates will show as revoked on their public verification page.
4. Public verification
Each certificate has a unique credential ID and a public verification page showing the recipient name, certificate title, issue date, and status. By earning a certificate you consent to this information being publicly accessible to anyone with the ID or link. You may ask us to revoke a certificate at any time, after which its verification page will show it as revoked.
5. Subscriptions and payments
- The Plus subscription unlocks all CertMyLife-authored programs for as long as it is active. It renews automatically each billing period until cancelled.
- You can cancel at any time from your account; access continues until the end of the paid period.
- Certificates you have already earned remain valid after your subscription ends.
- Payments are processed by our payment provider (Stripe). Prices are shown on the pricing page and may change with notice for future billing periods.
6. Custom programs
If you commission a custom program, you are responsible for the content you supply and confirm you have the rights to it. We may decline or remove content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, or that impersonates a real licensing body. Custom programs are delivered as described at the time of purchase.
Self-serve programs. Building a program yourself is free; publishing it costs a one-time fee shown before you pay. Published self-serve programs are private: only you and people you invite can take them. By publishing, you confirm you have the rights to everything in the program and you grant CertMyLife a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to copy, edit, and offer the program (or a version of it) to anyone, including as part of the CertMyLife catalog, without credit or payment to you. Your own copy stays yours to edit, and certificates earned on it stay valid. We may archive a self-serve program that breaks these terms; the publishing fee is refundable only where the law requires.
7. Acceptable use
Do not attempt to disrupt the Service, scrape it at scale, access other people's accounts, forge or alter certificates, or use the Service for anything unlawful.
8. Intellectual property
Course content, assessments, certificate designs, and the CertMyLife name and seal are owned by us or our licensors. You may download, print, and share your own certificates. You may not reproduce the seal or certificate design for any other purpose.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Course content is provided for general information and entertainment. Follow manufacturer instructions, local laws, and common sense. To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is”, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
10. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms. If a change is material we will notify you by email or in the app. Questions: support@certmylife.com.
